Oakley was created by Jim Jannard in 1975. He invested a total of $300 to create the company, named after his dog Oakley Anne, from his garage. He began by making handgrips for motocross motorcycles, which he sold from the back of his car at motocross events. Currently, Oakley is one of the largest companies to be developing eyewear and other sports goods in the world with sales operations carried out all over the globe. The brand is known for its disruptive designs across all sports and innovations that piques the interest of collectors. Some models, such as the Sutro, remain a modern classic that equally delivers performance and style.
